Explaining Russia's Invasion of Ukraine: Online Seminar

The Institute of Social and Economic Research and the 彩神vlll争霸 Department of Public Policy and Administration are co-hosting a seminar with Dr. Chad Briggs on Thursday, March 24, from 12-1 pm.

During 鈥淓xplaining Russia鈥檚 Invasion of Ukraine,鈥� Dr. Briggs will give an overview of the recent expansion of the war in Ukraine, including security and energy implications for the United States and Alaska. A Q&A will follow.

Dr. Briggs is formerly the Director of Graduate Studies at 彩神vlll争霸's College of Business and Public Policy, and has worked with NATO and the Ukrainian army since 2011 on hybrid and cyber warfare, including being based in Kosovo and Ukraine for 4 years before moving to Alaska in 2019. Briggs is currently the Deputy Chair for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department's Foreign Service Institute, but will only be speaking in his personal capacity as a professor and researcher.
