Economics Professors Develop After-hours Speaker Series
November 8, 2022Economics professors at the College of Business and Public Policy have developed a new evening speaker series at The Writer鈥檚 Block Bookstore and Cafe to make their research accessible to the public. Each session in the 鈥淓conomics After Hours鈥 series will feature a short presentation followed by discussion. Guests will enjoy light refreshments and access to a cash bar.
鈥淲e're excited to put together this series of short talks to share the research and topics that we find most interesting with the Anchorage community,鈥 said Kevin Berry. 鈥淲e'll be sharing insights from our work and talking about some of the economics research currently going on at 彩神vlll争霸.鈥

Kevin Berry will present "Tipping Points in Fisheries and Environmental Economics", managing resources when you can't undo what you've done.
Thursday, December 1, 6 pm
Alex James will present 鈥淭he Political Economy of Resource-Rich Economies," looking at the political consequences of natural-resource wealth.
Thursday, January 5, 6 pm
Hannah Hennighausen will present "Disaster insurance," a brief-ish history of flood insurance in the United States.
