Biography

The core of my teaching philosophy stems from the Plutarch quote 鈥淭he mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be ignited.鈥 I do not want to simply deliver information to students; I want to excite them and spark their interest to learn more.

Research Interests

During my time at OSU, I gained experience in educational research, specifically working with large enrollment undergraduate courses. My focus for projects has been in factors that impact student academic performance and professional development of teaching practices for undergraduate teaching assistants (UTAs). My interests are in factors contributing to student learning and improving teaching methods to increase student performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Anatomy & Embryology Alaska Thread Lead and Anatomy Lab Manager. I provide lab tours for high schools and interested clubs, teach during the Della Keats program, and created the Alaska chapter for the Anatobee, a national high school competition on anatomy, to interact with our community and provide encouragement to students interested in health professional careers!
