Even amidst a global pandemic slowdown, it鈥檚 been a productive year for Naidene Baechler. She will serve as the speaker for this fall鈥檚 graduate hooding ceremony after completing her Master of Social Work in May 2020. Merely one week after earning her degree, Baechler kicked off her career as program supervisor for the Knik Tribal Council (KTC).
Since 2014, the Municipality of Anchorage鈥檚 (MOA) Welcoming Anchorage project has been building a network between local businesses, organizations and the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation to recognize the contributions immigrants and refugees make to our city through economic, cultural and social impacts.
In 1992 Congress established the Udall Foundation in honor of the late Morris K. Udall, a democratic attorney who served as a representative from Arizona from 1961-1991. Udall was known for his leadership and lasting impact on the nation鈥檚 environment, public lands and natural resources, as well as his advocacy for supporting the rights and self-governance of Native Americans and Alaska Natives.

Not only is it important to practice social distancing between other people and your pets, but it's also recommended to interact with them to alleviate stress. She also advises anyone considering getting a new pet to help animal shelters by fostering them.
